whatapriss: Thurgood Marshall - Litigator. Activist. Supreme Court Justice. The man responsible for successfully arguing Brown v. Board of Education (Topeka) before the Supreme Court, which declared unconstitutional racial segregation in American Public School systems. There’s much to say about Thurgood, but I have a point to make. He was the first African American to serve on the United States Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas the second. Louis Brandeis was the first jewish to serve, Sandra Day O’Connor was the first woman to serve on the Court, Sonia Sotomayor the first hispanic woman to serve on the Court. I believe it is time that an African American woman serves as well.
